The Singapore Estate Agents Association (SEAA) continues its dedication to advancing the professional development of its members by constantly reviewing and updating its Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses to align with market needs. “SEAA is committed to equipping our participants with the latest technology tools and knowledge, enabling them to stay at the forefront of the industry and thrive in any market conditions,” says Adam Wang, President of SEAA.
Wang emphasizes that these awards not only build customer trust but also help agents establish a positive reputation by upholding high ethical standards. “These accolades attract integrity-focused clients and elevate overall industry standards,” he adds.
The awards ceremony was divided into two sessions, recognizing outstanding agents across four categories. The afternoon session celebrated recipients of the Salesperson Achievement Award in the Silver and Gold categories, while the evening session honored individual and multiple award winners in the Platinum and Diamond categories.
In his speech, Wang urged agents to take a stand against unethical practices, particularly those who create misleading listings or online content that spreads falsehoods. “Such actions disrupt the market and violate the ethical conduct and professionalism expected of every real estate agent. Engaging in or promoting these practices severely undermines the reputation and trust that the real estate industry has painstakingly built over time,” he states.
This year’s event marked the fifth annual SG Real Estate Agents Excellence Awards, with the ceremony graced by Associate Professor Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, Minister of State for the Ministry of National Development and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
In his address, Minister Faishal highlighted the crucial role that real estate professionals play in guiding clients through an increasingly complex property landscape and safeguarding their financial interests. “As trusted professionals in your field, you play a key role in helping your clients achieve their homeownership dreams while also protecting their financial well-being,” he remarked.
Adam Wang also noted a significant increase in participation this year, with over 600 qualified applications for the 2024 awards. “This is a testament to the prestige and professionalism these awards bring to the real estate industry,” he commented.
A total of 625 local property agents were recognized at the SG Real Estate Agents Excellence Awards 2024, held at Marina Bay Sands on August 16.
The ceremony also included special recognitions, such as the Senior Achievers Award, which honored agents aged 60 and above who earned a minimum of $100,000 in the past year. Additionally, the Outstanding Youths Award acknowledged professionals aged 28 and under who earned at least $120,000 in gross commissions in 2023, while the Rookies Award celebrated new agents who achieved exemplary results, with earnings of at least $80,000 within their first 18 months in the business.
SEAA’s latest initiatives, such as the memorandum of understanding on best practices for co-broking compensation, further demonstrate the association’s commitment to supporting real estate agents in Singapore. The best practices guide advocates for agents to collect compensation from the party they represent and to agree on all compensation arrangements before engaging with clients.
