Singapore has been recognized as the top city in Asia for expatriates, according to a recent report by Preply. The city’s appeal to foreigners is attributed to its high average monthly income, relatively low tax rates, strong safety measures, and cleanliness, which collectively earned it the highest ranking in Asia.
The study conducted by Preply evaluated key global cities based on various factors critical to expatriates, including the cost of living, average monthly salary, estimated tax burden, safety ratings, cleanliness, and the time required to learn the local language.
In terms of housing, the report highlighted that Ang Mo Kio offers the most affordable rental prices for expats in Singapore, with an average monthly rent of $1,268 for a typical one-bedroom apartment. Other budget-friendly areas in the city include Sembawang, Yishun, and Punggol.
